There’s one thing that can make a game go from great to legendary. It can also make a bad game memorable for decades. In some instances, It can not be relevant to the game at all, but still burrow deep into your brain, make a nice little home, and come out to present itself while you’re doing the most tedious tasks, or when you’re walking around, or just… whenever.
It’s the music soundtrack.
There’s lots of games that you can probably sing the tune in your head without needing to hear it, just from reading the text, here’s just a few in no particular order:
- Super Mario Bros
- The Legend of Zelda
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Pokemon
- Wii Sports
- Crash Bandicoot
- Halo
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
- Tetris
- GoldenEye 007 (+ Pause Music)
- Hades
For me, it has to be the GTA 4 Soundtrack. It’ll randomly come into my head on any given day. I don’t ask for it, it’s just there.
Honestly, I didn’t play enough Grand Theft Auto 4, certainly not enough for it to warrant a permanent place in my internal reminder system, but this tune just keeps on coming back for whatever reason.
And on that note, pun intended, what’s yours?
