Today’s question is one that can easily slip under the radar, as it’s easy to forget that we live in a world full of little luxuries.
Some examples include:
- Contactless payments
- Air Fryers
- Supermarket Delivery
- Parcel Tracking
- Dishwasher
- Wireless Headphones
- Smart Bulbs / Plugs
For me, over the years I have driven a lot of miles for both work and pleasure. While things like lane assist, heated seats, heated windscreen, climate control are all nice to have, I personally would hate to give up Cruise Control.
My car didn’t come with cruise control, I had to effectively “retrofit” it by changing out the wheel to one that had the physical controls, and altering the software in the car so it would think that it was a model that had the feature.
Well, I say I did it, while I have changed some features in the car through software, in reality I paid a guy £50 from a car forum to do the wheel swap and coding, and it was the best £50 I’ve spent over the 6 years I’ve owned the car, as I’ve driven around 90,000 miles in it and my right foot is very happy it’s not constantly on the accelerator pedal.
How about yourself? Is there something you just can’t give up now that it exists in your life?
This is part of my little Hello, Question series. The previous one was: [Hello, Question: What’s the One Thing You Wish You’d Kept?]
