I’ll jump straight into my answer to this as it’s one I’d like to promptly forget.
A news article popped up in my feed in the past day that gave me a kick in the teeth. 18 days prior, I decided that I no longer played my SteamDeck 1TB OLED handheld as I’d been leaning more into the Nintendo world lately, so it was time to get rid of it. It was sitting there gathering dust and seemed too good of a console to just turn into a statue.
As the house is also in a “declutter” phase, that day, I took the decision to sell it. I won’t say for what price, because it’s part shame, and part wince-worthy. I was aware that they were hard to get hold of, but I wanted a hassle free sale so I could concentrate on the chores, so I took it down to the local CeX and parted with it.
Then… it all changed.
In the past couple of days, Valve has announced a significant price increase on the SteamDecks of more than 40%, which continues to further reinforce that Gaming has become a luxury.
As a result, I went back to the item on the website that I sold to see if the current price of it.
Over £100 more was being offered in cash for the item, and that’s usually the smallest value to go up compared to their in-store credit.
I’ll use this as my answer as it’s most recently nibbling at me, and I’ll completely dodge the Bitcoin I had and sold before it went to crazy prices back in 2018.
Anywho, your turn:

An item, a service, a grandfathered deal, an old account, a job, anything you let go of and later thought: “ah, that was a mistake.” Because hindsight is a wonderful thing, except for when it isn’t.
