A whopping 16 years ago, I made a video on Tracking Typing, Clicks, Mouse Clicks & Mileage through the software called WhatPulse.
To summarise without watching the video: WhatPulse tracks, heatmaps and scoreboards activity on a computer. It’s a set and forget tool that runs in the background quietly “pulsing” your stats back to the server.
(Note to young self: You can’t spell mileage, I think I’ll keep that typo in there as a reminder, could have been the title was too long back then)
That software is still around, even with support for things like Apple Silicon, and surprisingly, the WhatPulse team that’s on the video is still alive today, with some members (including me now) contributing to our team score.
Although the team name was DuncsWeb, I’ve changed this to Ctrl Alt Dunc (The name of this website) to reflect current times.
The team, as of writing, has 44 members, who have tapped their keyboard over 300 million times, clicked their mouse over 185 million times and moved their mice over 332 miles. I have a lot of work to do to make it to the top of the leaderboard, where sonark lives.
