Do It For the DiVine – Yes, Vine is back, apparently.

Not that long ago we had the shutdown of OpenAI’s Sora platform within 2 years of it’s launch, proving out that AI generated videos, especially in the hands of humans, are not ready for prime time in the video space.

Now, we have DiVine, a resurrection and revamp of the Vine platform backed by Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter. Divine says it has restored approximately 500,000 archived Vine videos from nearly 100,000 original Vine creators.

Videos involve 6 second looping clips. The selling point: Combatting AI Slop, with in-app verification that content is generated by humans.

But can the platform compete in 2026 with the likes of TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram? Or will it suffer a second shutdown such as the one in 2017?

Only time will tell.
